The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (in Danish: Det Nationale Forskningscenter for Arbejdsmiljø, NFA), Denmark, is a government research institute under the Danish Ministry of Employment.
Within the research area of Psychosocial Work Environment at NFA we investigate the impact of psychosocial working conditions on health and illness, analyse determinants of labour market participation, and conduct and evaluate workplace intervention studies. We use a wide range of methods, from qualitative interview studies to large-scale register-based research.
We are involved in numerous national and international research projects, including large international consortia, such as the MENTUPP project or IPD-Work. In recent years, we have in particular focused on workplace mental health, on how working conditions may affect workers’ mental health and on how the workplace can be used as an arena to protect and strengthen workers’ mental health.
